A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Passover1.png

As we move from March to April in the calendar, our sights set on the holiday of Passover and the themes of redemption, resilience, and hope.  We are also reminded of the strength it takes to overcome hardship and the power of providing assistance to those in need. At ALYN Hospital, Israel’s premier pediatric rehabilitation center, we can get a first hand view of the themes of resilience and hope as children facing unimaginable challenges fight every day to regain mobility, independence, and a sense of normalcy.

Passover is a time when we retell the story of our people’s journey from bondage to freedom. For the children of ALYN, the journey to freedom is not one of miles, but of milestones—taking a first step after injury, learning to navigate the world from a wheelchair, or simply holding a loved one’s hand after months of therapy. Each small victory is a modern-day miracle made possible by compassionate supporters like you.

When people like you support American Friends of ALYN Hospital, you help to provide state-of-the-art treatments, advanced therapies, and cutting-edge equipment that empower the children at ALYN to reclaim their lives. A child who needs it can receive the support of a ventilator, speak their first words after a traumatic injury, or learn to move freely despite physical limitations.

Every year at the Seder table we recite "Avadim Hayinu…..”—we were slaves, but now we are free. The children at ALYN come into the system as captives, slaves, of whatever challenge they are facing.  The professionals at ALYN work tirelessly with these children to help provide them the gift of freedom.

As you celebrate with loved ones, may you be blessed with joy, health, and the knowledge that you can help transform lives.  Please join us by clicking here to support the incredible work being done at ALYN Hospital.
