A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

This week, I found myself at my community’s Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) commemoration which, of course, has extra meaning this year following the tragic events of October 7, 2023. Within 24 hours, we leave the sadness of Yom HaZikaron to begin the celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day), this year marking the 76th anniversary of Israel’s creation. Children often arrive at ALYN due to tragedy and the care each child receives at ALYN often means that tragedy is followed by the joy of recovery and the opportunity for a life of independence and joy.

EMUNAH'S JOURNEY 

What started with seemingly innocuous foot pain turned Emunah and her family’s world upside down. The foot pain quickly escalated into a life-threatening situation that required months of intensive rehabilitation by the therapeutic and medical professionals at ALYN Hospital. Through tears and triumphs, Emunah and her family demonstrate resilience and hope in the face of adversity.
