A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
November: A Time for Gratitude
In the United States, November is a month dedicated to giving thanks—a time to reflect on the blessings in our lives.
Here at the American Friends of ALYN Hospital, this November has offered us even more reasons to express our gratitude. This year, we completed an incredible Wheels of Love Bike Ride in Israel, raising nearly $2.7 million, to date, to support the children at ALYN Hospital. For more details about this inspiring event, please see the article in this newsletter.
Participating in the ride also gave us the opportunity to visit ALYN Hospital and witness firsthand the remarkable impact of our collective efforts. It’s truly heartwarming to see the children’s joyful faces, even amid the challenges they face. There is an incredible warmth and resilience in each child we meet—an experience that stays with you long after you leave.
Equally inspiring is the work happening behind the scenes at ALYN. Every day, ALYN’s dedicated team strives not only to maintain but to continually improve the level of care and support these children receive. Take, for example, the Helmsley Pediatric & Adolescent Rehabilitation Research Center (PARC), where cutting-edge research is shaping the future of pediatric rehabilitation therapies. Then there is ALYNnovation, an initiative focused on co-developing innovative products and services to enhance patient care. Additionally, PELE provides customized, cost-effective solutions that empower children to live as independently as possible. And these are just a few examples of the many incredible projects underway at ALYN.
This past year has been nothing short of miraculous. Despite the ongoing challenges of war in the region, ALYN Hospital has continued to provide essential care for children every single day. Whether inpatient or outpatient, these critical services have remained uninterrupted. Families who were displaced from their homes have been able to rely on ALYN for the care they so desperately need—all thanks to the unwavering dedication of the ALYN staff.
As we approach Thanksgiving, I would like to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to our donors. Your generosity makes it possible for ALYN to continue its vital work, and for that, we are truly grateful.
As you gather around the table this Thanksgiving, please take a moment to think of the children at ALYN. Add their strength, courage, and progress to the many blessings you are thankful for this year.
AM YISRAEL CHAI.
